BlueStone Construction & Project Management, LLC started back in 2005 as a Minnesota design/build lake home and cabin general contractor. We had seen how others were doing it here in Brainerd, MN and we thought we could do it better. We believed we didn’t have to be the biggest to be the best. And we still feel this way.

Design/Build is the process of defining your tastes, your lifestyle, your vision and documenting them into your final construction plans. Most of our projects are a combination of many design styles. Every home is unique or “one-of-a-kind”. Some lake homes combine rustic with arts and craft. Others combine mission with timber frame. Still others stay more contemporary but inject flashes of rustic warmth on ceilings, floors and cabinets.

BlueStone is the “right fit” for “right now”. Power and efficiency is the game in today's economy. BlueStone offers all the power larger firms boast without having to support excess office, equipment and personnel overhead. We are not top heavy and have planned our corporate strategy from the beginning to provide the most service in the most efficient, “lean and mean” manner. In today’s market, this is a clear advantage for you.

Added to this is the fact that we are not aware of another MN new construction or remodeling contractor who only does lake homes. That’s all we do. We don’t do anything else but lake homes and cabins. So we’ve become very familiar, comfortable and expert at dealing with the issues surrounding designing a lake home, building a lake home or building on the lake.

Jim Raboin has been in the building industry since the early 1990's and is a visionary who has built BlueStone on the idea of giving more than is expected. Jim has residential construction experience and is fast becoming known as a new kind of developer / construction leader in the Brainerd Lakes region. Jim has actively been involved in the region's planning, growth and development. He served on the DNR's Shoreland Advisory Committee that re-wrote alternative shoreland rules for the five county pilot project. He now serves on the Brainerd Lakes Intelligent Growth Committee the local Chamber of Commerce is facilitating. Jim manages the business side of BlueStone.
Larry McCulley has been in the building industry since 2000. He has built BlueStone by taking what he has learned from our clients and creating truly unique lakehomes that reflect their lifestyles. Achieving excellence through relationship building is his passion. Larry has significant heavy commercial and residential construction experience and received his bachelor’s degree in construction management from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He managed field operations for a heavy highway contractor in Denver. He is also becoming known as a new kind of developer/construction leader in the Brainerd Lakes region and has a keen eye for detail. He is a key component throughout the design and construction process. Larry manages the construction side of BlueStone.
Kevin Grube, AIA. Kevin is an architect who specializes in “one-of-a-kind” lakehome designs. His common sense approach from his rural Minnesota family farm upbringing blends perfectly with his flare for style. Kevin will produce your preliminary plans, construction documents and provide you assistance with exterior design, interior design and material selection decisions. His passion for lakehomes utilizes rustic, log and timber frame design techniques and more. You will enjoy watching how he weaves old character themes such as “Arts and Craft”, “Cottage” or “Mission” styles into your project. It won't take very long before you get a sense that his greatest reward is hearing joy and satisfaction from BlueStone's customers.

Deb Lasher has been in the customer service industry for twenty years,
and is committed to awardwinning customer service. As a life long resident of the Brainerd Lakes area she understands the ever changing needs of lake residents, whether they are year round or seasonal. Having been personally involved in building two brand new homes she understands how vital good communication is in every step of the process, and is passionate about making sure that the communication goes both ways every step of your dream. Deb serves as a Lakehome Specialist who will guide you through the entire pre-construction process.
