"We appreciated Blue Stone Constructions attention to detail and their follow through. Larry did a good job of communicating with us and kept us up to date by sending us regular photo’s of the progress on our project.

More than any one thing, Bonnie and I felt like Blue Stone Construction built us a quality home and were concerned about building a home that is structurally sound."

Marty & Bonnie, Minneapolis

Welcome

Founded in 2005 by Larry McCulley and Jim Raboin, BlueStone Construction & Project Management, LLC is a respected name in lakehome design and construction. Located in the heart of the Brainerd Lakes Area, BlueStone is known for creating innovative designs, producing exceptional craftsmanship and executing unparalleled communication with its customers. We would rather over communicate than leave customers uninformed. BlueStone’s primary focus is seeing needs, challenges and opportunities ahead of time before each phase is executed.

Jim Raboin has been in the building industry since the early 1990's and is a visionary who has built BlueStone on the idea of giving more than is expected. Jim has close to 15 years of residential construction experience and is fast becoming known as a new kind of developer / construction leader in the Brainerd Lakes region. Jim has actively been involved in the region's planning, growth and development. He served on the DNR's Shoreland Advisory Committee that re-wrote alternative shoreland rules for the five county pilot project. He now serves on the Brainerd Lakes Intelligent Growth Committee the local Chamber of Commerce is facilitating. Jim manages the business side of BlueStone.
Larry McCulley has been in the building industry since 2000. He has built BlueStone by taking what he has learned from our clients and creating truly unique lakehomes that reflect their lifestyles. Achieving excellence through relationship building is his passion. Larry has 7 years of commercial and residential construction experience and received his bachelor’s degree in construction management from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He managed field operations for a heavy highway contractor in Denver. He is also becoming known as a new kind of developer/construction leader in the Brainerd Lakes region and has a keen eye for detail. He is a key component throughout the design and construction process. Larry manages the construction side of BlueStone.

Dennis P. Marcussen (Pat). Pat specializes in “one-of-a-kind” projects working directly with clients on exterior design, interior design and material selection decisions. Pat has been a part of and designed many award winning lake homes in the Brainerd Lakes Area. In the past ten years his project designs have varied from 800 square feet to 80,000 square feet. Pat has a passion for the past as he utilizes rustic, log and timber frame lake home design techniques. Others enjoy how Pat weaves old character themes such as “Arts and Craft”, “Cottage” or “Mission” styles into their project. Pat also generates Schematic Drawings/Construction Documents in 2-D and in 3-D. You don’t have to know Pat very long before you get a sense that his greatest reward is hearing the joy and satisfaction from his clients who are now enjoying their new lake home.

Greg Sellner is qualified to serve as your liason throughout the design process. Greg is a wealth of knowlege. He has spent the last ten years designing kitchens, baths and major remodeling additions in Minneapolis. Greg also has worked for a lakehome and cabin firm in the Brainerd lakes area doing interior design. You will quickly get a sense that Greg knows how to help you get the most out of your project.

A certified interior designer for over ten years, Kirsten Seidl (CID, ASID) has a background in residential and commercial interior design. Seidl is dedicated to working with customers to create interior design solutions that are guided by clients’ lifestyle and tastes. Consider your lifestyle when designing the interior of your lake home. How do you plan to use the room? How do you plan to use the house? Think about not only what the room will look like, but what it will feel like. It will probably feel very different than your main home. Lake homeowners are often looking for a place to relax, and may be doing less entertaining than they do in their year-round home. Consider your lake lifestyle when you are designing a lake home. Don’t put a silk rug in your lake home living room if you’re going to be tracking in sand from the beach!
